Greetings,

Summer is here, the sun is shining, and it’s our favorite time to travel. We have some suggestions for you.

Living Life…Boomer Style’s Top Five Summer Destinations are:
1. New York City  2. The London Zoo  3. Osakis, Minn. 4. Las Vegas

5. Hot Golfing Spot-Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. NYC was chosen as a romantic luxury vacation for couples, or a get-away with the girls. The London Zoo for bird watchers, or interesting educational family vacations. Osakis, Minn. another favorite for family vacations, or a fishing trip with the boys—or the girls. Las Vegas for adult vacations. Jacksonville, Fla. as a golfcation—Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. has some incredible golf courses, all a short distance from one another. This month it is Osakis’ time to shine, pronounced Oh-say-kiss. There are two new books for the adventure lover’s, one is ‘So Brave, Young and Handsome’ by Leif Enger. Lin Enger, his brother has a book coming out July 3 titled ‘Undiscovered Country.’ They were raised in Osakis and their parents still live there. Don Enger, Leif and Lin’s father is an incredible wild life photographer. Photography was a hobby and ended up being his second career. The travel story on Osakis will be in the July 15 edition.New in Fashion:

The Shoe Store feature is this gorgeous white sandal with a row of crystals down the front of the rouched slide. The sandal is perfect for those poolside BBQ’s; slide them on with your suit and a great cover over the suit and your are elegant, tasteful, and don’t need to worry about your shoes getting wet. They will still look fab. The shoe retails at only $49.90. And, they’re comfortable. (Hint, if you have the $20 coupon code from last month’s issue, it will work with this shoe) The shoe also looks great with shorts, jeans, dresses, and skirts.

The very cute shorts outfit on the right is a ‘Green’ outfit and the pocket book is, too. Costume designer-writer-photographer Cozette Cravens went to a symposium about eco-friendly fashion. Hint, one of these pieces has soy as an ingredient. Designers are doing some clever things to be earth-friendly, find out in Fashion Conscious.New in Bird Lover’s:Learn about ‘The Oldest Known Eagle‘ and for more bird watching, check out the cute bird videos from the London ZooSpeaking of birds, ‘A View from Robin’s Nest’ is a new section with funny, quirky columns written by author Robin Hoselton. This week she entertains and amuses us with her views of ‘Supermarket Bagging’ and ‘Doves and Roses.’ She’s also got a precious story, ‘The Home Expo,’ for the gardeners and anyone who enjoys a good read.

About the Ride:

S.G. Mahaney shares his take on Nissan’s Ultima Hybrid and he likes it. The car has some unique features that previously only belonged to race cars.Today’s Issues:

Drill Here. Drill Now. Pay Less. Had a huge response with several readers sharing their opinion. You don’t have to read ‘In Their Own Words’ from the series Illegal Immigration, Part II because it is all video of what our representatives are saying on the subject. Interesting and engaging to see the different opinions and solutions offered. And, a thoughtful and well written editorial on oil prices by Ernie Hooker has gotten some feedback, as well. It is a side of prices you won’t see on the news. Send us your opinion.Music:

Bette is still as funny as ever and Michael Holloway captured her humor beautifully, he also has the scoop on Belinda CarlisleThe Police are on tour and Shelli Carlisle shares what they are like in concert. The Team from Living Life…Boomer Style put together their Top Ten Lists of favorite songs to share with you. There are different genres of music, it’s a great selection. You can listen to them anytime you like; when it’s time to check my emails—the playlists are the first place my cursor goes, and my ears enjoy something while my fingers are working. This month we would like to introduce photographer, writer, author, and babysitter Arthur Cofresi, not only is he captivating, his music is, too. It’s celebration time, as Art just finished his first novel. Perhaps we can convince him to share his first chapter with us.The new section ‘In the Genes’ has some great videos of our favorite musicians and their children who have music in their blood. See Elvis and Lisa Marie perform together, check out Jakob Dylan’s style (who just won some awards), it kind of reminds one of Bob Dylan.Movies:Hancock’ is coming out today in limited releases for pre-screenings if you are interested. BUT, the big news is Columbia Pictures will Pay Off the Mortgage for One Deserving Family by having an essay contest. Again, the GRAND PRIZE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A MORTGAGE PAY OFF.
