The Dream

Upon awakening

I realize I am no longer in my sacred place.

My body feels heavy.

My heart aches.

My mind is not clear.

I feel tired,

worn, old.

Reality spits in my face.

I struggle to close my eyes and

slip back into my dream,

my refuge,

my distorted reality,

where my heart is free

and my spirit dances.
