Anguish

Anguish is my blight,

it roots have taken hold,

devouring my truth

replacing my hope

with

unrelenting sorrow,

loneliness,

pain.

Suffocating slowly

one breath–

one heartbeat at a time.

If you are a compassionate God

I beg you–

loose me from this curse,

restore my hope,

my faith,

my truth,

that I may dream

for something more,

somewhere,

someday.
